The "Black Sam's Secret" escape game at the Touraine Aquarium
For the All Saints’ Day holidays, the Aquarium de Touraine, located in Lussault-sur-Loire, is launching a brand-new escape game: “Black Sam’s Secret.” Blending a tropical atmosphere with the world of pirates, the tourist office invites you to uncover the secret hidden within the nooks and crannies of its mysterious galleon.
The "Black Sam’s Secret" escape game at the Touraine Aquarium
“Hear ye, hear ye, shipmates! Black Sam’s treasure is within your reach!” With a crew of six sailors, we ventured into the hold of Black Sam’s ship. Taking advantage of his absence, we scoured every nook and cranny, hunting for any clue that might lead us to his treasure. Aided by a fellow crew member—who was rather fond of his bottle of rum—we put our heads together. Through teamwork and collective problem-solving, we managed to unlock the final chest, which held a wonderful surprise!
An ideal activity to do with children
We certainly won’t spoil any of the answers—or even give away the overall vibe—but we can tell you that the immersion is exceptionally well done. You’ll truly feel as though you’re on the deck of a pirate ship, complete with wooden doors, chests, and ropes. The puzzles are original, accessible, and can definitely be solved within the 60-minute time limit. The atmosphere is family-friendly, so even more impressionable children won’t be frightened. It’s a fantastic way to spend time with family or friends—a complete change of scenery is guaranteed!
The Touraine Aquarium is also…
With over 5,000 animals spread across three ecosystems, the Aquarium of Touraine encompasses waters from all over the globe—from the fresh waters of the Loire River to tropical environments and the seas of the Indo-Pacific. More than 80 tanks house hundreds of species, including some of the most iconic creatures on the planet: from the formidable catfish—a denizen of the Loire—to the adorable clownfish, immortalized by Pixar. In the shark tunnel, majestic sharks glide above visitors, passing near the wreckage of an airplane.
A visit to the Aquarium of Touraine also offers an opportunity to take a closer look at the impact of pollution and global warming on marine biodiversity. Educational workshops allow visitors to observe zookeepers at work and learn more about the delicate animals in their care.
