Stroll along the banks of the royal river
The Loire à Vélo is undoubtedly one of the first circuits you’ll tackle. This signposted route crosses two regions and follows the royal river for almost 800km. From Amboise, head west in the early hours of the morning along the banks of the river and keep your senses alert. You could witness the morning splash of a beaver or the majestic flight of an ashy heron. Then stroll along the hillside through the vineyards of Montlouis sur Loire and breathe in the sweet scent of chenin grapes. And why not take the opportunity to stop off for a wine-tasting session? A total change of scenery guaranteed!
If you’re a fan of day outings, why not opt for one of the many loops winding between the Loire and Cher rivers? With its 45km, the Royal Loop guarantees a complete change of scenery. Long lanes in the shade of century-old trees and a picturesque path along the banks of the Cher to discover the Château de Chenonceau. Then tiny forest roads in the heart of the Amboise forest before enjoying a sumptuous panorama over the heights of the royal city! All without any particular difficulty, and with clear, reassuring signposting.
