Founded in 2016 by Vincent Delaby, passionate about vineyards and wine tourism, VinoLoire invites you to discover the winegrowing treasures of the Loire Valley through guided tours in French and English. Our experience with Vinoloire
Our wine escapade began in Amboise, where we boarded a minivan with our guide Alycea, heading for our first stop: Domaine Le Capitaine, located in Vouvray. This family estate extends over 27 hectares of Chenin Blanc vines, planted on the first slopes of Rochecorbon.
We began with an impressive tour of their 2.5 km-long cellar. In this authentic setting, Alycea introduced us to the world of winemaking, guiding us through the various stages of the winemaking process and explaining how wines evolve over time. This immersion in the daily life of a winemaker made the visit both instructive and fascinating.
The visit continued with a tasting of white wines from the Vouvray appellation: sparkling, brut, sweet, dry and demi-sec. Each wine was accompanied by a cheese carefully selected to reveal its aromas. In this way, we experienced how certain food and wine pairings can magnify flavors and offer new taste sensations. The tasting was also a great opportunity for exchange and discovery, where we were able to ask questions and deepen our understanding of the particularities of each wine.
We then set off for our second stop: Château de Fontenay in Bléré.
Here, we explored other appellations, such as Touraine and Chenonceaux. We tasted a variety of red wines with fruity aromas and different levels of intensity, accompanied by tasty local charcuterie. Alycea also taught us how to recognize a quality wine based on elements such as provenance or
labeling.
We made our way back to Amboise in a relaxed atmosphere, our hearts and minds enriched
by this wonderful oenological experience offered by VinoLoire – a veritable journey to the heart
of the region’s flavors, know-how and viticultural landscapes.
